Skiddaw and Lonscale calling at Lattrigg - Photo Gallery

It was wet and there was little chance of it getting any better, I had planned a walk that gave me high and low-level options depending on just how wet it got. I walked along the Keswick Railway Path until I turned off towards Lattrigg and the signpost pointing to Skiddaw; it stopped raining as I climbed to the summit of Lattrigg but started again as I climbed up to Skiddaw and as I gained height the rain gave way to mist and the wind became strong enough to be a problem. As I walked along the broad summit ridge of Skiddaw I was almost brought to a standstill, it was just about possible to walk. I descended around the base of Skiddaw Little Man, the wind eased and the sun broke through the clouds; I walked along the faint path by the side of a fence to the summit of Lonscale Fell and down to the Burnt Horse ridge. I walked down to the not-very-obvious path in the valley of Glenderaterra Beck and after crossing the beck a good track took me past the very private Blencathra Centre and back to the car park at Threlkeld.
